ABOUT
Martin Johansson aka Stendalen is a photographer based in Gothenburg, Sweden, and Bali, Indonesia. His artistic practice focuses on long‑term projects exploring themes such as identity, memory, place, and separation. He also works with dance photography and screendance. Several of his dance films have been featured at screendance film festivals.
Stendalen is a member of Centrum for Photography (SE) and Bildverkstan (SE). He is alumni of the BOYS!BOYS!BOYS! photo course (2021) and Atelier Smedsby (2024-2025)
